I've been very busy lately playing with the Rub Wrongways Caravan of Stars, a metaband (not to say supergroup) consisting of members of Sitting Next to Brian, The Fawns, School for The Dead, Bourgeois Heroes, and the Salvation Alley String Band. We play sets of songs by the above groups, and occasionally put on a night with a line-up of those bands. It's been great to learn songs by the other groups and to play the SASB favorite, "Eight Miles High" with them. Last weekend, we had some single-set shows lined up in Franklin County- Here's Henning's account of the weekend and a pic of us at Burrito Rojo in Turners Falls.
This coming Saturday, February 27, the Caravan will be playing the Black Moon Cafe in Belchertown, at 9:30 pm. The Fawns, School for the Dead, Sitting Next to Brian, Paper Piano, and Matt Silberstein. The night before, on Friday, February 26, Paper Piano will be playing The Glasslands in Brooklyn at 9pm. Who is Paper Piano? That would be the Jason Bourgeois/Mike McClellan/Justin Pizzoferrato/Ryan Quinn project named "The Plastic Higgins Band" in an earlier post.
